Stride Privacy Policy
Last Updated: October 2026
Introduction
Stride is a daily discipline and self-growth application developed by zo5ive. This Privacy Policy explains how Stride handles information and protects user privacy.
By using Stride, users agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
Information We Collect
Stride does not require account creation and does not collect or transmit personal information such as:
- Name
- Phone number
- Home address
- Payment information
- Precise location data
There are the following exceptions:
- If you choose to enable the optional Google Drive Backup feature described below, Google Sign-In provides your Google account email to the app locally, so it can show you which account is connected. This stays on your device and is never sent to us.
- If you submit a message through the in-app Feedback form (bug report or feature request) or send a module request from the Modules screen, the text you write, along with your device's operating system and the time it was sent, is transmitted to our systems so we can read and respond to it. Submitting these is entirely optional. Please avoid including sensitive personal information in your messages.
Aside from these cases, Stride does not collect or transmit personal information to the developer.
Purchases are handled by Google Play. Stride never sees or stores your card or payment details. To confirm which plan you own, Stride uses RevenueCat, described under "Third-Party Services".
Local Data Storage
Stride is designed with a privacy-first approach.
Tasks, habits, routines, reminders, streaks, notes, journal entries, self-chat messages, goals, lessons progress, and other productivity-related information are stored locally on the user's device.
This information remains under the user's control and is not uploaded to external servers, unless the user chooses to enable the optional Google Drive Backup feature described below.
Data Sharing
Stride does not sell, rent, or share user data with advertisers, marketing platforms, or data brokers.
The optional Google Drive Backup feature described below is not third-party data sharing: it uploads only to the user's own private Google Drive storage, which remains entirely under the user's control.
Basic, non-personal usage data and crash diagnostics are shared with Google Firebase to help us understand app performance and fix bugs. See "Third-Party Services" below for details.
Your purchase status and an anonymous identifier are shared with RevenueCat, our purchase manager, as described under "Third-Party Services".
Notifications
Stride may request notification permission in order to deliver reminders, scheduled alerts, and productivity-related notifications, which are scheduled locally on your device. Stride also has the technical capability to deliver push notifications to your device via Firebase Cloud Messaging.
Notification permissions can be changed or revoked at any time through the device settings.
Biometric Authentication
Stride may use biometric authentication features provided by the device operating system, such as fingerprint or biometric unlock, to help protect access to app content.
Biometric information is processed by the device operating system and is never collected, transmitted, or stored by Stride.
On-Device Assistant (Axi)
Stride includes an optional on-device assistant, Axi, that offers reflections, suggestions, and conversational support based on your activity in the app, such as your tasks, goals, journal entries, and notes.
Axi runs entirely on your device. It reads your local app data to generate its responses and insights, but this processing never leaves your device: nothing is sent to zo5ive or to any third-party server. Axi does not use an internet connection to function.
Conversations and insights generated by Axi are stored locally alongside your other app data, and are subject to the same "Local Data Storage" and "Backup and Restore" practices described in this Policy.
Photo Library Access
If you choose to export a quote card image from the Signal feature, Stride requests permission to save that image to your device's photo library. This is a save-only permission; Stride cannot read, browse, or access your existing photos.
Backup and Restore
Stride allows users to create and restore backup files either locally on the device, or optionally to the user's own Google Drive account.
Local backups remain entirely on the user's device and are never transmitted anywhere.
Google Drive backup is optional and only activates if the user chooses to sign in with their Google Account. When enabled, Stride uploads a single backup file containing the user's tasks, habits, routines, notes, and settings to a private, hidden storage area of the user's own Google Drive (the "Application Data" folder). This file is not visible in the user's regular Drive, is not accessible by other apps, and is not accessible by zo5ive. This backup may also run automatically in the background on app open if the user has configured an auto-backup schedule.
Stride does not access, read, share, sell, or analyze the contents of this backup file, and does not use it for advertising, analytics, or any purpose other than restoring the user's own data back into the app at their request.
Users can revoke Stride's access to their Google Drive at any time via their Google Account permissions page (myaccount.google.com/permissions), which also deletes the stored backup file.
Stride's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Sharing & External Links
Some features, such as Notes and Self Chat, let users share content using their device's native share sheet to any third-party app they choose. Stride does not control or see what happens to content after it is shared.
Stride may also open external links, such as our website or social media pages, using the device's browser or the relevant app. These third-party destinations are outside our control and are governed by their own privacy policies.
Data Security
Because user information is stored locally, protecting that information depends largely on the security of the user's device.
Users are encouraged to:
- Use device passwords or biometric security
- Keep their device software updated
- Store backup files securely
- Avoid sharing devices with unauthorized users
While reasonable measures are taken to support privacy and security, no method of storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Children's Privacy
Stride is a general productivity application intended for teenagers and adults.
Stride does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If a parent or guardian believes that personal information has been unintentionally provided through the application, they may contact us for assistance.
Third-Party Services
Stride uses Google Firebase and a few other services to help us understand app performance, improve reliability, and support optional features:
- Google Sign-In & Drive API: used only if the user chooses to enable the optional Google Drive Backup feature, as described above.
- Google Play Billing: processes purchases and subscriptions. Payment details are handled entirely by Google and are never shared with us.
- RevenueCat: manages purchases and subscription status across Google Play. It receives an anonymous identifier assigned to your installation, your purchase and subscription status, and basic device information such as your country and IP address. It does not receive your name, email, tasks, notes or any other content from the app. RevenueCat's own privacy policy applies to the data it handles.
- Firebase Crashlytics: automatically sends a report when the app crashes or hits a fatal error, so we can diagnose and fix bugs. This is not a feature users can opt out of within the app.
- Firebase Analytics: collects basic, non-personal usage events (such as app opens) to help us understand how the app is used in aggregate. It is not used for advertising and is not linked to your identity.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging: gives Stride the technical ability to deliver push notifications to your device.
- Firebase Remote Config: lets us adjust certain app configuration remotely without shipping an update, including whether paid plans are offered. It does not transmit personal data.
- Cloud Firestore: stores the messages users submit through the in-app Feedback form, as described above.
Stride does not use:
- Advertising networks
- Behavioral profiling systems
- Cloud-based assistant services (Axi runs entirely on-device, as described above)
Other than the anonymous purchase identifier described above, Stride does not use user tracking technologies.
If future versions introduce additional third-party services, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect improvements, new features, legal requirements, or operational changes.
Any updates will be posted on this page, and the "Last Updated" date will be revised accordingly.
Continued use of Stride after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
Delete Your Data
Stride stores your tasks, notes and settings on your device, so deleting the app or using Settings > Reset all data removes them.
Feedback and module requests are sent without your name or email, so we can only find yours if you tell us about it. To request deletion, email support@zo5ive.com with the subject "Stride data deletion", and include roughly what you wrote and when you sent it. We delete it within 30 days of confirming the request.
Purchase records are held by Google Play and RevenueCat under their own policies.
Your Google Drive backup, if you made one, is in your own Drive: you can delete it from the app or at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
